Fancy New Bell Box

The Bell Box, the outdoor junction box for Bell Canada, at the foot of Barrington Ave just behind Main Subway station is getting a make over in the next few days.

As part of an initiative led by DECA, this Bell Box is one of many throughout downtown Toronto to be re-painted by a Toronto artist as a mural. Our Bell Box will be painted local resident Tak Bui.  Tak is a comic artist and editorial cartoonist and has completed other local mural projects too, like the new mural at Stephenson and Main.  Check out his book.

So, swing on by the Bell Box this weekend to see its progress!

This is fantastic news. These Bell boxes can be such eyesores, especially when they get tagged and stickered, etc. I’m excited to see what Tak paints!
