Toronto East General gets a boost

Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH) has received significant funding from the Province.  Funds will contribute to construction of a new building as well as a (much needed) major renovation of the existing building.

Here is an excellent post on DECA’s blog about the state of the hospital: DECA’s executive committee was invited on a tour several months ago by TEGH’s CEO.  In a nut shell, the members of the committee were stunned by the sub-standard conditions of the hospital. The blog post quotes the lead architect on TEGH’s reno as saying “the bottom line is that people in East York aren’t getting the same care as people who live in other parts of the city.”

As TEGH is our local hospital, these funds are welcomed and much needed!
